Frequently Asked Questions

BranchLife is the first century church experience today. For us, this is church!
We are communities of people meeting in homes, sharing meals, taking communion, and sharing concerns, needs and prayers with one another. We are the Home Church expression of Oak Hills. We thrive through prayer, worship, bible engagement, fellowship, service and generosity… together.

And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved,” Acts 2:47

BranchLife was started to equip and encourage leaders aligned with Oak Hills, but living outside of driving distance of one of the Oak Hills campuses, who are called to start Oak Hills Home Churches! Like the first century church leaders to enable people to belong, grow, and serve Jesus – together with the Oak Hills Body.
All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.” Luke 2:42

We call it church! We pray, sing, take the Lord’s Supper, learn and share together. We receive the teaching from Max and Randy as we participate in the Livestream service right along with the rest of Oak Hills. Then, we eat a meal and plan how we will reach the lost!

Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.” Matthew 28:19-20

One of our core values is that all believers are ministers. To be a BranchLife Leader an individual should have some leadership experience, be connected with other people, and align with Oak Hills as a member and volunteer.

Absolutely. We feel it is important to continually support, train and encourage our leaders. Through the leadership team on staff with BranchLife we have many different ways to come along side our leaders. See our Resources page for more information.

Special Note

Sharing responsibility for the Branch community is fundamental for growth. So, we strongly urge our leaders to share the load. See our Belong, Grow and Share pages for more information.

Time together – not THE time together is important. Our suggested approach is to meet each weekend for the full live stream of the Oak Hills service. Alternatives abound, but another common approach is to meet weekly to share in the teaching portion of the service from Randy or Max, break bread, share the Lord’s Supper, pray together and have some fun! When possible, our Branch communities serve and be the hands and feet of Jesus – together!
Our hope and prayer is that each Branch community will be active in their own communities. Sometimes, this requires financial resources. So, we have established a unique financial paradigm for BranchLife. Members and guests can give electronically through, receive a tax benefit, and 50% of the funds can be used in the local community. (See resources page for approved use of funds). The other 50% of giving will be used to support the BranchLife Ministry in Oak Hills Church.
